Mike Rowe Wonders Why Colleges Are Worthy Of Federal Funding If They Don't Fly The Flag

You may not peg former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe for a political analyst, but his insight to federal funding will surprise you.

Rowe recently took to his Facebook page to share a realization he had while flipping through the channels on TV. He noticed on one of the stations that they were airing images of college students across the country burning the American flag and saying it makes them "fearful" and "disgusted." He then remembered how the President of Hampshire University had recently taken down the flag because students expressed "fear and discomfort" over its presence.

The former television show host does not see the correlation between removing the American flag from universities in order to combat these social problems. However, Rowe wants universities to understand just where their funding is coming from.

Taxpayers are paying a lot of money to universities and colleges across the country, and Rowe thinks that these students and administration are "spitting on" the country they live in. "... I found myself wondering as to why the President of Hampshire College would allow his students to pay for their tuition with federal dollars," Rowe posted on Facebook. "Federal dollars provided by the same government whose flag was no longer suitable to fly at his school."

Whether you agree or disagree, Mike Rowe has given all Americans food for thought.
